My 'friend'

For writing class we had to make a short story. Here I leave mine!

It was a cloudy and rainy day. I was finally getting out from school. A boring, and exhausting day. I walked some block with my best friend, Sarah, until we had to separate because our houses were situated on opposite streets. “Goodbye!” I shouted, when she crossed the street. She made a silly face, and I laughed.
I continued my way. I finally arrived home. I felt happy, because, although I had tons of homework (I am on the last year in high school), I was planning to go somewhere with Sarah and other close friends.
Millions of phone calls later, we decided that Sarah, Anne, Mary, Sophie and me were going to the mall the next day, on Saturday. I liked the idea, so I started with my homework to be free on Saturday.
After two hours, my head felt like it was going to explode, so I took a break and phonecalled Sarah, to distract myself. “How are you?” I asked her “Math homework is going to make me commit suicide . . .”. Then I heard she was crying.
“Are you Okay?” I asked, carefully. She didn’t answer. “Anne called me three minutes ago . . . “ she started. “She told me that I couldn’t go to the mall on Saturday with her because she was ashamed of how weird I am.”
Sarah is weird, in a way. She reads books on her free time, and listens to music no one likes anymore. She was weird, but in a good, funny, and so lovely way she won my friendship from the first time I talked to her.
“You are going to come” I said. “I am inviting you. I will pick you up on your house”. I hanged out the phone call. I continued with my homework and then went to sleep.
The next day, Sarah and me were waiting on the entrance of the mall for Anne, Sophie and Mary. I was going to have a very serious discussion with Anne. Sarah and I were best friends even before I had ever met Anne. When we met, four years ago, Sarah and I were best friends, and so did Anne, Mary and Sophie. We soon made a bigger group of friends.
Finally, they arrived. Anne looked surprised of Sarah being there, and my angry face. “I guess you told her” Anne said. “You can’t defend yourself, don’t you?. Sophie and Mary stayed quiet, and did nothing.
Suddenly I realized that Anne was not the friend that I thought she was. She wasn’t there for our friendship, she was there, to finish with our friendship and going somewhere else with ‘popular’ people, like everyone else. I realized how much I hated Anne. She was trying to control everyone, and she didn’t mind if the only way was hurting a friend. Because she knew that what she said was going to hurt Sarah.
Sarah was about to answer her, but, showing my anger to her on my face, grabbed her arm and took her out of there. Anne didn’t deserve neither Sarah’s or my friendship.
We went home. That was the last time we ever saw them.
